In this presentation, participants will be led through a discussion of trauma-informed strategies to impact personal lives and teaching abilities. The Pandemic has caused traumatic and disappointing experiences for everyone in some capacity. Canceled plans, sick friends & family members, the inability to visit with loved ones, losses, etc. For educators, we were expected to drastically change how we do our jobs, as well as were thrust into the spotlight in many ways.
The discussion items and lesson ideas are intended to be ways to thoughtfully move through our current climate, as well as ideas that may help with your students (and YOU) as they “return to learn” in a more normalized capacity. One day soon, those masks will come off. How will your students (and YOU) handle it?
